What are the benefits of StoreSpace® Planner?

StoreSpace Planner is a licensing option for StoreSpace® that extends the software’s floor planning capability with inbuilt AutoCAD functionality. This enables existing merchandising and planning teams to take advantage of the same planning StoreSpace® planning tools working on .dwg floor plan, but without needing in-depth knowledge of CAD.

It also means that teams can implement best practice for planogram assignments enabling both the macro and micro teams to work directly on the same floor plan. This enables them to plan their stores and extract valuable intelligence from their floor plans using StoreSpace® without needing a separate AutoCAD licence.

What does the StoreSpace® AutoCAD planning toolset do?

AutoCAD is THE architectural software used by retailers, and used in conjunction with StoreSpace® provides an integrated planning environment. The StoreSpace® planning toolset guides retail planning teams through the macro space planning process.

Using model stores and a simple traffic light system, StoreSpace® helps to guide a store planner to the right balance of space in each store. Categories that are over or under-achieving in comparison to model stores are highlighted, enabling planners to understand, adjust space and consistently plan their stores.

Furthermore in the StoreSpace® environment the .dwg floor plans are linked to a central cloud-based database, enabling teams to derive value and share space data with internal and external stakeholders via the web-based portal.

Inbuilt AutoCAD functionality in StoreSpace® Planner

Working with TechSoft3D, AutoCAD’s exclusive OEM reseller StoreSpace Insights released its StoreSpace Planner as an alternative to the AutoCAD Toolset Plugin in 2018. This option was developed for clients with no existing AutoCAD or for those wanting to plan their macro space but not needing a full AutoCAD environment.

As a NielsenIQ Connected Partner, StoreSpace® also links tightly with their Spaceman planogram application enabling retailers to plan directly with available planogram sizes and overlay sales data with their floor plans to further inform their space planning decisions.
